The second volume is based on Tiger! Tiger! (retitled “Mowgli and Shere Khan”) and Letting In the Jungle.
Mowgli is wearing a knife at his chest. He didn’t have it in volume 1, so where did it come from?
His loincloth has also changed, making it more concealing, clearly due to censorship concerns.
